Write with your voice, with less typing
Many people find typing hard: because of age, pain or stiffness in the hands and wrists, reduced mobility, or simply because they type slowly. Dictating with your voice can spare you a good part of that effort.
Who it can be useful for
- Older adults who want to write emails, messages, or documents without wrestling with the keyboard.
- Anyone who feels tired, pain, or stiffness in the hands after typing for a long time.
- People with reduced hand mobility who can press a key but prefer not to type letter by letter.
- Anyone who thinks faster than they type.
Everyone is different. The best way to know if it works for you is to try it: you get 14 days free, no card.
How it works
- Press the key you choose once (for example F5).
- Speak normally, for as long as you need.
- Press the same key again. The text appears where your cursor is: in an email, in WhatsApp Web, in a document, or on any page where you can type.
You do not have to keep the key held down. If you prefer, you can also use hold mode: you keep a key pressed while you speak and release it when you finish.
What can make things easier
- A single key, whichever is most comfortable for you. In Settings you choose which key or combination to use.
- Your voice is processed on your device and is not sent to any server; internet is only used to download the model, activate the license, and run license checks.
- It understands six languages: Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, German, and Italian.
- It learns your words: you can add the names of family members, streets, brands, or terms you use often so it spells them correctly.
- One-time payment, with no subscriptions to remember or renew.
What to know beforehand
- You need to be able to press a key to start and finish each dictation. Hablaki is not operated by voice alone: it does not open programs or move the mouse.
- The first installation asks you to download the voice component and grant a few permissions. If you do not feel confident, ask someone you trust to help with that step; after that, daily use is simple.
- Speech recognition can make mistakes, especially with a lot of noise, if you speak very quietly, or with uncommon words. Check anything important before you send it.
- If you need to control the whole computer with your voice, the operating systems include accessibility tools for that, such as Voice Control on macOS and Voice Access on Windows. Hablaki focuses on writing text.

Is Hablaki a medical or assistive tool?
No. Hablaki is a voice dictation app for writing with less typing. It is not a medical product, and it does not replace an assessment by a professional or the assistive technologies that have been recommended to you.
Do I have to hold a key down the whole time?
No. You can use tap mode: you press the key once, speak for as long as you need, and press it again to finish. You choose the key.
Can an older person use it?
Yes, if they can press a key and speak clearly. Once it is set up, daily use comes down to pressing, speaking, and pressing again. If they have never used a computer, it is best for someone they trust to help with the installation.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. You get a 14-day free trial, no card, to see if it works for you. After that, if it works for you, it is a one-time payment of $9.99.
