Privacy policy
Hablaki is designed so that your voice and your texts never leave your computer. This policy explains clearly what data we process and what we do not.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Simple Studio, based in the Dominican Republic. You can write to us at hola.hablaki@gmail.com.
2. What Hablaki does not collect
- Your voice. The audio is processed on your computer, in memory, and discarded when it finishes. It is not sent to any server or saved as a file.
- Your texts. The dictated text is pasted into the application you are in. Hablaki does not send it anywhere. It only keeps it on your computer if you turn on the local history, an option that is off by default and that you can review and delete whenever you want.
- Your activity. We include no analytics, no advertising, and no trackers in the application.
3. The data that is processed
Purchase and payment
The purchase is handled by Lemon Squeezy (Link, LLC, formerly Lemon Squeezy LLC), which acts as the merchant of record: it collects the payment, applies taxes, and issues the receipt. Lemon Squeezy processes your payment data under its own privacy policy. We receive the data needed to deliver your license and give you support: name, email, country, and order amount. We do not receive your card details.
License activation
To activate and check your license, the application sends to our license server (hablaki.com, hosted on Vercel) your license key, a random installation identifier, and an anonymous fingerprint of your computer (a code that does not reveal which computer it is). The server asks Lemon Squeezy whether the key is valid and returns to the application a signed certificate, which is renewed periodically. It serves to verify that the license is valid, respect the computer limit, and prevent unauthorized copies. We do not store your key or this data on our server.
Download of the voice component
During the initial setup, Hablaki downloads the speech recognition component from a third-party file hosting service. That service can see your IP address, as happens with any download. After that, recognition runs on your device.
Checking for updates
Every few days, Hablaki checks a page on hablaki.com to let you know if there is a new version. That request only shows your IP address and the name and version of the application. You can turn it off in Settings, Privacy section.
Reporting a problem
If you choose to write to us from Settings, your email application opens a message with technical data (version, system, permissions, and technical log) that you can review before sending it. It does not include your voice or your texts.
Technical log on your computer
The application saves a technical log file on your computer (for example, transcription times and errors) that is used to diagnose problems. It contains no audio or the text you dictate, it is not sent to anyone, and you can delete it whenever you want.
The hablaki.com website
The site is hosted on Vercel, which may log technical data about each visit (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and operational reasons. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising.
Affiliate links. Only if you arrive from an affiliate’s link (which has ?aff= in the address), we load the tracking script from our provider Lemon Squeezy. That script stores a cookie with a visit code (for up to 30 days) and computes a browser fingerprint, for the sole purpose of crediting the commission to the affiliate if you buy. If you do not arrive through an affiliate link, that script is not loaded.
To know how many people visit the site and where they come from (for example, from which page or social network), we use Vercel Web Analytics: it measures visits in aggregate, without cookies and without identifying you personally or building a profile of you. We do not cross-reference that data with your purchase or your license.
Support
If you write to us, we use your email and the content of your message solely to reply to you.
4. What we use the data for and why
- To deliver and manage your license (performance of the purchase contract).
- To give you support and handle refunds (performance of the contract and legitimate interest).
- To comply with legal and tax obligations (legal obligation).
- To maintain security and prevent fraud (legitimate interest).
5. Who we share it with
Only with the providers necessary to deliver the service: Lemon Squeezy (payments and licenses), Vercel (website hosting), and the hosting service from which the voice component is downloaded. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Some of these providers are in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside your country.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your order and support data for as long as necessary to manage your license and for the periods required by tax and accounting law. After that it is deleted or anonymized.
7. Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, its rectification or erasure, to restrict or object to its processing, and for its portability. Write to us at hola.hablaki@gmail.com and we will reply as soon as possible. You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.
8. Minors
Hablaki is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes
If we update this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its date.
