How to translate audio to English

  1. Upload the audio or video.
  2. Set the language being spoken. On this page, the “Translate to English” option is already turned on.
  3. Press “Transcribe”. The text will appear directly in English. Download it as TXT, Word, PDF or subtitles.

Good to know

  • Translation is into English only. For another language, transcribe in the original language and translate the text afterward.
  • In the cloud, the most accurate model is used for translation. On your device, Lynx mode is used.
  • It's a machine translation: review the result before publishing it or using it for anything important.

Frequently asked questions

Can I translate into languages other than English?

No. Direct translation from audio is into English only. For other languages, transcribe in the original language and translate the text with a translator.

Which languages can I translate from?

From any of those on the list, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, German or Italian.

Can I create English subtitles?

Yes. When it's done, download “SRT subtitles” or “VTT subtitles” with the text in English.

Is the translation accurate?

It's usually good with clear audio, but it's automatic. Review it before using it for anything important.

Is my audio stored?

No. It's transcribed and deleted when it's done. With “On your device”, it never leaves your computer.
